Left 4 Dead 2 – Review (X360, PC)

Left 4 Dead 2 is a great game. It is, quite possibly, Valve’s best effort yet, and considering the rich heritage of that company, that’s saying something. It features great graphics, terrific sound design, astounding atmosphere, authentic tension and emotion, and the kind of addictive tactical gameplay that has not only come to be a staple of the L4D games by now, but is also Valve’s unique trademark. It is a game that everybody should try out at least once. And while there is a chance it won’t really appeal to you, there’s an even greater chance that you’ll love it. Left 4 Dead 2 should be the blueprint for all future sequels- it rights the wrongs of the first, and it evolves and refines the gameplay design to perfection. If ever there was a case of a sequel totally rendering the existence of the first game useless, then this is it. If you’re yet to dabble in Valve’s rather fresh take on the zombie apocalypse, then by all means, go ahead and get the sequel. Not only is it better than the original, but it is a thoroughly excellent game in its own right…

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed USE – Review (PC)

Considering all the shame Star Wars has been going through lately, namely the ridiculous Clone Wars saga, it was obvious that someone had to make a logical move and bring in something new, minus all those bulging heads and mediocre animation. And while The Force Unleashed has been released for consoles almost two years ago ...

Resident Evil 5 – Review (X360, PS3, PC)

There were many thoughts and opinions regarding Resident Evil 4, introduced back in 2005, and all those new gameplay mechanics that came with it. Some thought that the sloppy controls and deliberate action were a betrayal to the series, while most others stated that the series have just got their best soldier. Regardless of the ...

Batman: Arkham Asylum – Review (X360, PS3, PC)

Licences are usually mixed bags and it’s usually no surprise after you get quick movie cash-ins with minimal effort but large success. But Eidos were different; they never made a movie representation of the Dark Knight’s latest escapade but focused hard on providing us with a top quality game no matter how long they had ...

Velvet Assassin – Review (X360, PC)

Velvet Assassin isn’t a bad game, however it isn’t particularly good either. It is a solid stealth game that sets it’s own rules that are easy to learn and follow. On the other hand, it really doesn’t have any unique aspects that set it apart from it’s competition. Players assume the role of Violette Summer, a ...

Prototype

The ridiculously ambitious project, known as Prototype, has been in works from Radical Entertainment for many years now, and, fueled by unparalleled hype and some delays, built up an enormous fanbase who had hopes for one of the would-be greatest sandbox experiences ever. The sheer amount of possibilities the developers offered amazed: One of the ...

Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen

The real problem with Transformers was that the series never even needed a good game. The movies proved to be so successful that people bought the games without thinking about the product’s quality. The trick obviously worked with Transformers(2007), but an ambitious studio by the name of Luxoflux decided to give it a go and create a perfect transformers experience matching the release of Michael Bay’s Revenge of The Fallen.

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood

We all remember the unexpected success Techland made back in 2007, when Call of Juarez hit the shelves and introduced interesting multi-character story, intense action and stealth sequences as well as astounding visuals and great soundwork. The game stood, however, on unclaimed land as it was a general experiment in many aspects, starting from the complex ...

Bionic Commando

Remembering past times is always entertaining, and true to that axiom developers around the globe had somewhat taken off in re-making famous titles into next-gen monsters. Keyword: famous. Because there are probably only a few people left remembering one of the most iconic, but audience-lacking videogames for NES, called Bionic Commando.

Stranglehold

Anyone who has wanted to be in a John Woo action movie now can have that chance. Now you too can take part in completely unrealistic action sequences, take a thousand bullets and come away with a couple of cuts and scratches, and have doves appear out of nowhere and fly around you in slow ...
