Darksiders – Review (X360, PS3)
It may be easy to dismiss Darksiders as another God of War clone, but doing so would cause you to pass up on a game that is surprisingly unique and simply fun to play. The similarities between the two game are simply cosmetic and Darksiders provides a much deeper experience. Sometimes the addition of these ...
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 – Review (X360, PS3, PSP)
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 had a clear agenda of cutting back on content in order to refine the experience. Unfortunately they only achieved half this goal in releasing a shorter adventure with fewer characters and a less epic story. It’s still a great game that all Marvel fans will enjoy, but it was difficult to ...
Forza Motorsport 3 – Review (X360)
Racing games can be difficult to review. Without doing anything glaringly wrong, most of the features will come down to personal preference more so here than in other genres. Forza Motorsport 3 is one such title that doesn’t have any notable problems, but has several options that will be liked by some but annoy others. While ...
Borderlands: The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned – Review (X360, PS3)
Usually developers wait until their sequel to start working on the complaints from their game, but Gearbox used their first DLC to start righting their very few wrongs. The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned has a better story, more detailed environments, and far more humor. Travel to the new area, Jakobs Cove, can be done at ...
Assassin’s Creed II – Review (X360, PS3)
Assassin’s Creed is reborn in this powerful sequel that finally realises the series’ full potential. As it stands now, Assassin’s Creed II is the closes thing to perfection that we’ll ever get.
Left 4 Dead 2 – Review (X360, PC)
Left 4 Dead 2 is a great game. It is, quite possibly, Valve’s best effort yet, and considering the rich heritage of that company, that’s saying something. It features great graphics, terrific sound design, astounding atmosphere, authentic tension and emotion, and the kind of addictive tactical gameplay that has not only come to be a staple of the L4D games by now, but is also Valve’s unique trademark. It is a game that everybody should try out at least once. And while there is a chance it won’t really appeal to you, there’s an even greater chance that you’ll love it. Left 4 Dead 2 should be the blueprint for all future sequels- it rights the wrongs of the first, and it evolves and refines the gameplay design to perfection. If ever there was a case of a sequel totally rendering the existence of the first game useless, then this is it. If you’re yet to dabble in Valve’s rather fresh take on the zombie apocalypse, then by all means, go ahead and get the sequel. Not only is it better than the original, but it is a thoroughly excellent game in its own right…
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion – Review (PC, X360, PS3)
After playing Elder Scrolls IV for three years, and having just finished it for the first time, I can say this: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is the deepest, the longest, the most involving and the most addictive RPG I have ever played. For starters, Elder Scrolls IV is a 200 hour long game and that too, ...
Dragon Age: Origins – Review (PS3, X360, PC)
With a Tolkien-esque story, a deep, involving and varied gameplay structure, stellar music effects and a rich, vivid world, Dragon Age is paradise for fantasy RPG lovers, and a must buy for all those who call themselves gamers…
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – Review (X360, PS3, PC)
Modern Warfare 2 makes all the right moves needed to improve on its predecessor. The campaign has bigger set pieces, co-op missions were added, and competitive multiplayer has been tweaked to near perfection. The single player campaign is far too short, but the multiplayer options are second to none. The story picks up where the last ...
Baja: Edge of Control – Review (X360, PS3)
Very few racing games can combine arcade and simulation gameplay successfully, but this game pulls it off. It isn’t perfect and made a few questionable design decisions, but it is still one of the best racing games I have played in a long time. It starts off a bit generic, but as more time passed, ...
