About
Here at GAMEFURY, our goal is honest, unbiased reviews. While our opinions may not always coincide with yours, you can rest assured that we are basing them only off of our experience with a game. We’re just regular guys with a knack for writing that want to get our reviews out to the world, so stop by regularly, as we try to get something new on the site every couple days.
One big determining factor in our final review scores is something many reviewers overlook: value for your money. A budget game that is an absolute blast can easily get a higher score than a better made full priced game that has similar gameplay. It for this reason that you will see many high scores for iPhone games. The games may not look as good or last as long, but when they cost a couple bucks instead of sixty, that is just impressive value.
Our reviews use a percentage scale so that we can give as specific a score as we feel necessary to a game. The breakdown of the rating system is as follows.
100% – Perfect. Not a single issue or poor designs problem and has gameplay that will appeal to anyone. This mythical game has yet to be created.
90-99% – Excellent. Barely a flaw to be found and any that exist are easily overshadowed by every other aspect.
80-89% – Great. Still top tier games that only have a few poor features that slightly hurt the experience. Quite often, these games are the same quality as better rated games, but are too short to deserve a higher rating.
70-79% – Good. Contrary to popular belief, these games aren’t bad. The good category is reserved for games that are still a blast to play but don’t really stand out from the crowd.
60-69% – Mediocre. Nothing that hasn’t been done before and done better. May have some good ideas, but contains too many odd choices or bad design decisions. Fans of the genre may still have fun with a game in this range.
40-59% – Poor. Not the best of choice for most gamers. Games in this range usually aren’t worth any more than a rental. Crappy movie tie-ins often fall into this category.
10-39% – Terrible. Not worth buying. Probably not worth renting, unless it’s for the express purpose of making fun of the game.
0%-9% – Insulting. Games that should never have been made or are broken beyond repair. Usually results in frustration due to the fact that players typically feel as if they should have been paid to sit through such a miserable experience.
For those too busy (or too lazy) to ready through our reviews, they will have a ‘Bottom Line’ at the end that will not only include the percentage rating, but some pros and cons, as well as a final verdict.
